Tips to achieve a high quality profesional finish

Painting, everyone can do it, it's very easy to paint anything.

Professional Painting is on another level, You must follow certain steps to achieve the results of a high quality paint job.

Preparation is key.

In order for painting to be profitable you must sand down everything before you paint it.

Scratch it in a way so that the new paint you are applying attaches and sticks to the new surface,

Make sure that your work area is clean of any dirt that can potentially stick to your new paint applied.

Also you need to cover up any areas you don't want to get paint on. This is usually the floor and windows.

Often times you've got to cover whole sections of walls and or ceilings in order to not paint that part adjacent to whatever it is you are going to be painting.

For covering materials I like to use builders paper, this is a roll of paper about a yard wide, gives plenty of covering and easy to clean, it sold at local  hardware stores like the home depot or your local paint stores like Sherwin Williams. Also you will need LOTS of masking tape and masking paper rolls,

Dont forget to check your surfaces for any holes or cracks you might see and if you do find any, go ahead and add spackling paste/bondo/ or caulking to it so that it gets sealed under the primer and paint.

DO not skip on the primer phase of painting. It is of upmost importance that whatever you are gonna be painted gets primed appropriately before you apply your final coats of paint. This makes sure that your final sheen and paint application are perfectly and evenly applied. If dont correctly when you finish your painting project, you willl notice an evenness of color and sheen on your freshly painted wall/ceiling or cabinet.
